Not sure what to say?

Dorothy and Burl Ives became dear and loved ones to me in 1975 when I signed Burl to an endorsement deal to appear in TV commercials and ads for Uncle Bens Foods. I spent a lot of time with them at their home in Montecito, CA and we became like family, Burl told people that I was his "unofficial adopted son." I loved them both immensely. At one point, they invited me to move into their home and work for him. Other obligations prevented that from occurring. Nevertheless, we remained...

Dorothy grandmother to my dear childhood friend Samantha Vaughn Burton. My hear goes out to the family. I have searching for Samantha to reconnect with her and came across sweet Dorothy's obituary. She was such a sweet lady and like another grandmother to me. Thank you Dorothy for treating me like part of your family. May you rest in peace.

I met sweet Dorothy when she came into my gift store "Encore", here in Anacortes (now closed). What a beacon of light she was as she spoke of her love for Burl with a sweet smile on her face. Even thought I only met her that once, I never forgot the love she exuded. Rest in Peace beautiful lady...

Dear Family, I join all of you in your sorrow and wish you healing and peace. I Loved Dorothy with all my heart and cherish having been her daughter-in-law.

I, along with my friend, was fortunate to meet Dorothy just after she and Burl came to Anacortes. Dorothy was walking her dog down by the marina. She was a very friendly and happy woman. She even invited us to come and see the renovations that were being done to her home. It was the only time that I had the privilege of speaking with her, but it was an encounter that I still hold dear. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
