JENKINS, DOROTHY RENEE (AGE 40)

Dorothy Renee Jenkins of Newburg, Maryland, affectionately known as “Renee,” quietly entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Civista Medical Center La Plata, Maryland after a brief illness.

Renee was born on August 17, 1966 in Tompkinsville, Maryland to Dorothy Butler Chase and Joseph Jenkins. She was educated in the Charles County Public School System. Throughout the years she worked at Team Cleaning, Hardest Carry-Out and Comfort Inn. Renee was also a caretaker for Mark Walters for over 12 years, until his death.

Renee was a very caring and happy person; she always had a smile that would brighten up the world. Her sole purpose in life was caring for her children and her mother. Whenever you saw her on the highway, her mother was always with her; becoming her Mom’s personal chauffer. She was a devoted sister to Tammy, whom she loved with all her heart. Renee’s favorite past time was partying, dancing and playing cards with her “peeps” as she would say. Whose ever house she would visit, her favorite saying would be “what you got to eat.” She loved herself a good ole’ chicken breast sandwich and potato salad on the side. She was a DIE HARD REDSKINS fan, going to many of the games, and talking plenty of junk, to anyone that talked about her team.

Renee was preceded in death by her grandparents; Daniel and Evelyn Butler, Gertrude and Abraham Jenkins and her uncle, Tony Butler.

In addition to her mother, Dorothy, and her father, Joseph Jenkins, also left to cherish her memory are her children Takeia Jenkins, Michael and Krystal Turner; stepfather, James “Joc” Chase; sister Tammy Jenkins; brother Joseph Jenkins; aunts Gail Butler (Donnell), Vivian Butler, Catherine Mays, Ann Bond, Shirley Woodbury, Agnes Lee and Lucille Lewis; uncles, Cliff (Belinda), Howard (Donnie), Adrian Butler; great aunts, Dunreath Colbert and Marie Banks; nieces Brittany Rawls, Iesha and Amani Jenkins; nephews, James Johnson Jr., Tramane and Tramell Dorsey, TJ and Joseph Jenkins; God children, Michelle Abney and Darin Duckett, devoted friends Lisa Boggs, Annie Miles, Cheryl Lucas, Helen Baker, LaTrese Butler, NeNe Wheeler, Tiffany Holmes Doris Jennifer and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will take place on Saturday, September 23rd, 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 11:00a.m. Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Thornton Funeral Home, P.A.
