Not sure what to say?

To Dot's Family - Although I have not been able to visit Dot for several years, she is so often in our thoughts. We often brag about her to our friends. I will never forget my wonderful memories of the time we were neighbors in Lexington, the spirited exchanges between her and Joe about the latest books they had read and, or course, the famous cookies we all received on our birthdays even after she moved to Connecticut.

To the entire family of Dorothy Lappen - my sincerest and deepest condolences. I lived across the street from Mrs. Lappen as a kid in the 70's and early 80's before she moved to CT. I used to cut her lawn, and I will never forget her Chocolate Chip cookies, or the ginger ale she would serve me in her tall tin cups of different colors. On more than one occasion when my mother was unable to find me she would find out that Mrs. Lappen had let me in, and allowed me to take a nap in her living...

My family, Shirley, Jill, and J.J. are thinking of your family and thinking of Dot.

I grew up across the street from Jack and Dot in Lexington. On the occasions that I drove past my old home, with my kids, I would point our house and point the home of Mrs. Lappen and tell them about her.

To the family of Dorothy Lappen - My deepest condolences for your loss. Dorothy was an incredible lady who I had the great privilege to meet and work with at the Simsbury Public Library. She was a devoted volunteer and hated it when she couldn't appear on her appointed day. She was a treasure and an inspiration and I a better person for having met her.

Dear Deeg - Thinking of you in the loss of your Mother. I recall sharing dinner a few times at Jack & June's with her. I was so impressed; she had a wit and intellect that was amazing. Obviously led a full life. A lady way ahead of her generation. I feel privileged to have met her - even just a few times. With sympathy, Kathryn K.

Deeg, Nancy Grote emailed me your mom's obituary. At first I thought it was because of Skidmore College (I'm class of '57 along with Dottie O'Meara and Marge Storrs) because I didn't recognize the name! I'm so sorry to hear of her passing; I loved seeing the 2 of you together, but haven't in a long while. What an active lady she was; my husband, Jim, was a buyer at Macy's. Love and courage. Jane

Deeg, So sorry to hear about your Mom. Stephanie Rogers sent me the article. She sure lived a long time. Laura Diede (now out in Broomfield, CO)

Deeg,
Sorry to read of your Mother's passing. She was an amazing and fun woman. I so enjoyed being her neighbor when I lived in the Glen.
