Dorothy Lou Lazzaro, 79, of Duluth and Marble, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in St. Mary's Hospice Unit in Duluth. Born Jan. 30, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Minn., she was the daughter of Leroy and Evelyn (Fish) Waters. She graduated from the Greenway High School in 1947 and then attended the Itasca Community College. She married Allan L. Lazzaro on Aug. 16, 1949 in Marble. They moved to Ohio where they raised their children, and upon Allan's death, she returned to Marble. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marble, St. James Catholic Church, Duluth, was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Posts 1720 and 6320, from 1990 until the present. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Betty Carlson and Beverly Pritchard and a brother, Bub Waters. Survivors include her children, Allyn L. Cribley of Duluth, Duane (Debra Stockwell) Lazzaro of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Edward (Susan Coen) Lazzaro of Duluth; five grandchildren, Robert, William, Jessann, Megan and Conrad Lazzaro; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Arlene Lantinen of Bovey and Greg Waters of Pengilly. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine, and will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 3, 2008 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marble. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine. There will be a Celebration of Life at 5 p.m. on July 14, 2008 in the American Legion Post 71, 5814 Grand Ave., Duluth.
