Not sure what to say?

RIP Miss Mapes. You were a kind and supportive teacher to the class of 67. I am glad to know you enjoyed a long and full life after you took such good care of us and sent us on our way. My sympathies to your friends and corgis too.
Shirley Vickers Pommier QEH class of 67

I have fond memories of Miss Mapes and Miss Bryant, and had a lot of respect for them both. Mickey (McNutt ) Pfeiffer, Gabriola Island, B.C.

I graduated in 1960. At that time there was a change in the hierarchy. Both Dorothy and Floranna saw us through our 'Green years'. Dorothy became Assistant Director of Nursing (and Floranna the Director).
Dorothy was a kind, gentle soul, devoted to Nursing. She was greatly admired and earned considerable respect from the many nurses and doctors who passed her way.

Ann Beaufoy, Cass of 1960
Richmond, B.C.

Our sincere condolences and may Dorothy rest in peace. She was our good neighbour on Wicksteed Avenue for 29 years, from 1982 to 2011 when we moved. She always had a nice word for my sons when they were teenagers. She was so friendly and a good listener. She will be sadly missed. Sincerely, Helene, Glen and Manny Hammers and my mother Marcelle.

Dorothy Mapes was Assistant Director of nurses when I trained at the Queen Elizabeth , and graduated in 1952.
Both she and Floranna Bryant were well liked by the students.

Miss Mapes is a remarkable influence on many nursing students at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We remember her positive attitude, caring and compassionate approach, and fairness. RIP
