McCORMICK, Dorothy L. - Of Flint, age 94, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Crestmont Nursing Care Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Daniel Wallace officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Dukette Catholic School. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday, 12-3 and 5-8PM Wednesday and 12Noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 17, 1913, the daughter of the late Herman and Willie Eudora (Woodrome) Forrester, and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She was a very active member of Central United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. McCormick was past chairwoman of the Greater Flint Federation of Women's Clubs. She was past president of the Flint Sorosis Club. She was co-owner of Dor-Len Enterprises for many years. Mrs. McCormick was employed by the Flint Public Library for 13 years, retiring in 1979. Surviving are 2 sons, James McCormick and Geri Moody of Glennie and John and wife Cindy McCormick of Westland, Michigan; 8 grandchildren, Lynn (David) Russell, Lisa (Ted) Sawicki, Colin (Chris) Reiley, David (Karianne) Martus, Megan (Tony) Hudson, Nicole (Joe) McCormick, Michael McCormick and Kirk McCormick; 7 great-grand-children; sister-in-law, Ruth Forrester of Tucson, Arizona; special friend, Robert Martus of Flushing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard W. McCormick; daughter, Miriam L.; and brothers, Robert W. Forrester and William Forrester.
