Dorothy Shaw was born May 30, 1941, to the late Ernest Griffin and Clytis Clemons. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was no stranger to the phrase “Working for my Lord. " She served in many departments within the church, including the Choir, Hospitality, and Youth departments, and was a beloved Deaconess.


Dorothy served as a Childbirth Educator for over 30 years and was loved by all who came into contact. If you knew her, you know she loved the Lord and will sing a song and pray for you at the drop of a hat.


Dorothy leaves to mourn, 10 living Children: Judy Shaw Williams -1 child, Bruce Shaw (Anita) – 6 children, Thawana Anderson (Walter Beasley) – 3 children, Darryl Shaw (Kaaren) – 4 children, Gladys Hunter (Vincent) – 2 children, Marcia Marshall (Bobby Wilson) – 3 children, Sonja Williams – 2 children, Marion Shaw – 2 children, Penny Shaw – 2 children, and Brenda Thompson (Isaiah); bonus Children: Tameki Jones, Barbara Carter, Phillis Anderson, Chandra Castell, and Debra Anderson; Godson: Patrick Allen; Goddaughter: Jakerriaya Lewis; and a host of great-grands, special cousins, and friends.


She is preceded in death by her Parents: Earnest Griffin and Clytis Clemons (Tommy); Son: Charles Shaw; and Brothers: Horace Jakes and Roosevelt Andrews.
