Not sure what to say?

My dear Mother in Heaven: I was your first baby born in 1950. I know that you always remembered my first breathe and you blessed me by letting me be with you for your last. I will always remember that Saturday morning as I held your hand and said good-bye to you. It was the most beautiful gift you ever gave me and at the same time the most hated moment in my life. I didn't want to loose you, but I was so devestated by your suffering. How could you have held on for so long in that agony. God...

Dear Ones,

I think I may have been the first of nieces and nephews to learn about Dot's impending marriage to my beloved Uncle Stacy Spangler. I was about ten years old. The two had taken me to to the beach at Lake Michigan. Uncle Stacy was serious and quiet. He told me that he and Dot were going to be married. Now, I had a crush on my uncle. He was so much fun. He called me "Bosco." I didn't understand the "marriage" message at first, and then it sank in. As I came to understand, I...

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Nanny- I love you and will miss you soooo much. You have become such an important part of mine, Kelsie and Gage's lives. We have been very lucky to have you part of our lives. I will never forget all the precious times we shared. You always called me your angel, well you are now my angel. Love you lots and miss you dearly.

Dear Cousins and families, Dottie's passing marks the end of an era for the family of Charles and Mildred Spangler. She was the last spouse of the last of seven children of a family started more than a century ago. But what a legacy she and Stacy left for the future in the form of the extended family they raised and nourished. Now the mantel has been passed to you for the next generation.

We share your loss and and send our condolences to you all. Your Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma was a...

Dear kids,
I just opened the paper and saw your mother's obit and am shocked. I can not call because all I would do is cry and you don't need that.
Dottie was one of my most favorite people --she was a delight to be around. A smile and a kind word were part of her style. I know I should have called her and seen her more often but we mistakenly think we have plenty of time tomorrow. I will always regret the fact that I didn't.
I will see all of you at 5 on Monday.
All my love to...

Dottie was a gem! She sold my family our 1st house when we moved to Quincy in 73. She always took time out for us & sought out that we have a home to call home at the time. She will be greatly missed by my family & me! May God bless the Spangler family this day !

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
