Dorothy Stevens (Dottie), a noted painter and sculptor, originally of Cincinnati, Ohio, died peacefully at her home in Sarasota on November 12. Preceded in death by her late husband David, she is survived by a son, Joel, of Sarasota; daughter, Robin Payes and husband Richard Payes, of Rockville, Md; and three grandchildren, Ben, Dana and Ari Payes. A memorial service will be held by close family and friends. Donations may be made in her memory to Aviva Jewish Housing Foundation of Sarasota and to World ORT. Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
To Robin, Joel and family:
It was a pleasure to meet Dottie, Robin and Joel when we visited Sarasota a few years back and learned about the Silversteins of Cincinnati. Dottie was a wonderful steward of her family, and we were fortunate to get to know her, if only briefly.
