Dorothy Trescott Obituary

TRESCOTT, DOROTHY LOUISE "DOTTIE," age 79, passed away peacefully February 23, 2007 at JFK Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL after suffering a stroke. Dottie was born May 19th, 1927 in Macon Ga. She met the love of her life, Lyman (Lem) Louis Trescott while she was working at Kress Dime store in Macon in 1943. Lyman has always said that he met his million dollar baby in a 5 & 10 › store. Dottie and Lyman were married October 21, 1944. After Lyman's service in World War II, they moved to Miami, FL where they lived for 30 years. They moved to Lake Clarke Shores, FL in 1977. Dottie was a devoted homemaker and mother to five children. She loved to vacation with Lyman and her children in Sanibel Island, FL and Fontana, NC. They made both these vacations an annual family tradition and as a result all five children have continued the tradition with their families. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lyman, who meticulously cared for her every need over the past several years. She is also survived by her brother, John Wellons and her sister Sara Rogers both of Macon GA, as well as her five children: Robert Trescott (Cynthia Perkins) of Coral Gables, FL, Steven Trescott (Teddy Farley) of Miami, FL, Jean Trescott of Hollywood, FL, Daniel Trescott (Barbara Mathews) of Ft. Myers, FL and Gloria Noakes (David) of Lake Clarke Shores, FL and nine grandchildren: Stacey (Michael), Allison, Chelsea, James, Jackson, Lisa, Alice, Jia and Lia. A celebration of Dottie's life was held on Sunday, February 25 at the home of Gloria and David Noakes, in Lake Clarke Shores, FL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to the Jay Robert Lauer Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 5301 S. Congress Avenue, Atlantis, Fl, 33462. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when Gloria and I were teenagers, Mrs. Trescott was always so friendly and caring. And, funny. I can still remember her with a smile and an incredible southern accent. She was a beautiful soul. Her memory will never be lost. Gloria, please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you. Love, Deanna
