Dorothy (Anderson) Walker, 93, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Born in Springfield on August 20, 1928, Dorothy was one of ten children born to the late Arthur and Catherine (Arrowsmith) Anderson. She was educated in local schools and was a communicant of the former Grace Episcopal Church in Chicopee. Dorothy met her husband G. Warren Walker when he was stationed at Westover Airforce base, and they were married in October of 1949. She worked at the Murrysville PA library and for many years as a sales and fashion consultant at Kaufman's Department Store, in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Warren, daughters Carol Gainor and Barbara Gold, a brother, Robert Anderson, sisters Margaret Hicks, Sally Perusse, and Muriel Mailloux. She is survived by her son, Robert Walker and his wife, Cory; a daughter Karen Rochester and her husband, Andy; brothers William, Kenneth, John and M. Roy Anderson; a dear sister Shirley Kolby; grandchildren, Dan Gold, Kristin Grimm, Megan Wininger, Kevin Walker, Brian Gainor, Stephen, Anne, and Emily Rochester. Dorothy also leaves son-in-law James (Kathi) Gainor, five great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for Dorothy on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 10a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee. Corridan Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
