This is so late. I went to Dottie's house about 10 years ago and found she no longer lived there and was not able to remember her daughter's name (Terry)to track her down. We met Dottie at the laundry mat when her machine was down and we sort of adopted her as a grandma, as she was way more loving and caring then our bio one. We would get together and play cards and have snacks. We would go and decorate her house for the holidays and she even got us into coin collecting. One of my favorite memories of Dottie was when a telemarketer called the house while we were visiting and she messed with them and sang the Mickey Mouse song. I loved going to the American Legion with her and loved dancing with her friends at her and BK's wedding reception. I am sad that I didn't get to visit with her in the end. Dottie was a truly amazing woman and so loving.. I love you Dottie, show them how its done up there!

I met Dottie shortly after I moved to Tucson Meadows. I started playing cards in the clubhouse and that's where I met her. We would play poker and that's where I got to know her the best. After a while, as we begin to be friends, she invited me over to her house to play cards and we would play rummy over there with another friend. Dottie became my best friend! We would do so much stuff together. When she was not able to drive anymore, I would take her to the casino which was her favorite thing to do! I loved Dottie with all my heart and will miss her greatly! She was so involved in everything and gave so much of herself in everything that she did! Dottie was a fantastic person and my heart is broken that she is gone! But I know she's in a better place and I know she's happy!

Dottie was one of the first people I met after arriving in Tucson in 1984. Dumb computer terminals were just being introduced at work stations, and she hated them! She was used to using her IBM Selectric. We had so much fun back in those days. On some Fridays, we'd go to Rodeo Park for an extended lunch, and Dottie would bring her motor home loaded down with all kinds of goodies she had made. Many of our old friends have already passed, so I'm sure there will be a great Hughes reunion when she gets to Heaven. Rest in peace, dear friend.
