Read MoreI'm so sad to learn of Dorothy's passing at this late date. I had her for Color Theory at Carnegie Mellon University and fondly remember her as an outstanding teacher. Her enthusiasm for design was infectious. Truly a great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I have been mourning the loss of my dear colour teacher Dorothy Yanik. A pupil of Bauhaus artist Josef Albers, Dorothy brought Albers's method to her students, with exquisite enthusiasm whilst gracefully transmitting the poetry of his colour theories.
