Ms. Dorris "Dot" Lee Savoy, 83, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas.
Celebration Service for Ms. Savoy will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church located at (3920 W. Cardinal Dr., Beaumont, Texas 77705) with burial service to follow at Live Oak Memorial Park and Cemetery in Nederland, Texas under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. A public viewing will be held for Ms. Savoy on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 P.M. and Visitation on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from, 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas. Social distancing will be practiced and facial masks are recommended.

Dorris Lee Savoy, affectionately known as “Dot”, was born on May 30,1942, in Honey Island, Texas, to her parents, Emmitt Simmons and Victoria Bluitt. She later relocated to Beaumont at the age of 13.
She attended Charlton-Pollard High School where she graduated with the Class of 1960. Over the years, Dot held various roles, such as working at Zenith Cleaners and ending her career at Sam’s Club. She was known for her great cooking and her passion for volunteering in the community.
She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church and she loved her church family.
Dot has three sons, Anthony, Ernest and Victor (Tleshia), seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She has two Godchildren, Olivia Grant and Terry Bass. She was married to Stephen Hines, who preceded her in death. She later found love again with Melvin Savoy Sr., who also proceeded her in death. With her union to Melvin, she gained eleven children; Melvin Jr., Janice, Jo (Derek), Jeery, Shelia (Haven), Sonya, April, Kevin, Jessica, Andrew (Tabitha) and Jonathon (Angel). Dot has two sisters, Versie Lee Odom, who has proceeded her in death, and Mercedes Rodgers. She has five brothers, Arthur (Gwen), Emmitt Jr., Robert, James, and Roy (Phyllis). She is also survived by a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dot leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Dot will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were blessed to know her. Though she is gone, the memories shared and love given will never fade.
