Not sure what to say?

Because of Dr. Brumbaugh, I became the teacher I am today. I just heard about his passing, and I will miss him dearly. Your family is in my prayers.
UCF '93 and '97

I got to meet Dr. Brumbaugh through his daughter Shawn; he always showed
care, love and the worst a situation was the better he made you feel and the more hope it will grow in you. I know that he is teaching math to all in
heaven. He will be missed. My prayers are with him and all.

Doug Brumbaugh was a dear friend and colleague and an amazing ambassador for mathematics and mathematics education.

I miss his 'in your face' persona, the smile, the blustery get it done now attitude and his passion for teaching and learning mathematics.

Doug made and difference. My sincere symapthy to all family members.

No words could ever express the loss we all feel. Dr. Brumbaugh was the epitome of a gentleman, father, scholar, teacher, mentor, and Christian. He has taught me much and given so much more. I will always remember him and smile. If he had not been placed in my life when he was, I believe my desires of becoming a math teacher would have been overcome with "life." There was never a time, after speaking with Dr. Brumbaugh, I wasn't refreshed and ready to go forward. He always ended our...

Doug was a great guy, who will be greatly missed. I enjoyed his humor; and know that he was close with the Lord. His service was very nice. I like the fact that he planned a lot of it. He certainly left his mark on earth. I know he is in heaven now, cheering for the rest of us.

Linda & Family: Doug was a very special guy with a big smile and awesome sense of humor! I know he is God's arms now..... we miss you already and will remember you forever!

Linda, I was so sorry to read about Dr. B's passing. I'll always remember my math classes with him and how he instilled in me that I could do math with my students. Our grad class with him in Kissimmee and the Math conference at Ft. Lauderdale that year are also special memories. He even came and did math tricks with my fourth graders at M.A.E. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. His memory will live on in the hearts of many. Mary Lawson

Vicariously and through emails shared by family, I was introduced to the essence of the man so many of you knew personally. I understand that his presence here was so great that there will be a large void. The void though will be very temporary as it is filled with a wonderful legacy and the overflowing Love and Sprit of our Lord Jesus Christ. May this love and legacy comfort you all.

To the Brumbaugh family:

Please accept my deepest and most heartfelt condolences on your loss.

Dr. Brumbaugh ("Doug") was my colleague, mentor, and above all, my friend. During our conversations over the years, it was clear to see that Doug was a dedicated family man; his spiritual faith and his love for his family were the guiding principles in his life.

Over his 35-year career as a Professor of Mathematics Education at UCF, Doug positively influenced the...
