Not sure what to say?

I am so sad to learn of Doug's passing. I am thankful for the memories of lovely days on the beach with Lucy. What a generous heart and spirit. You are missed. My sympathies to his children and family. Rest in peace Doug.

Great Guy, Friend, co-worker, sailor, gentleman who will be missed greatly. Very sorry I was unable to attend his funeral. Gilbert Burnett Chief Judge N. C. 5th Judicial District, Retired.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of Doug's transition. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Doug when he began his internship working at Family Services of the Lower Cape Fear. I later became his Clinical supervisor and got to know him, as well as his family, on a deeply personal level through his sharing with me. Doug was such a good man who really knew how to have fun. What I remember most about Doug was his amazing sense of humor, and deep love and affection for...

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family members of Doug. He was a very nice man. I consider it an honor to have met him.
I pray that the Lord will bring comfort to the family members in the days to come.

I had the pleasure of working with Doug at Laney High School. He was a bright spot in the day when he showed up for lunch in the cafeteria. We had many a good laugh. He loved his children and would get the biggest smile across his face when he talked about them. Such a kind and genuine man!

I worked at Juvenile Services with Doug as my first supervisor in the 80s. I was sorry to hear of his passing. John 3:16.

I'm very saddened by Doug's passing. He had a great sense oh humor and was father to wonderful children who, along with many others will miss him. My thoughts are with him and his family today.

Doug and I experienced a lot together while at Juvenile Justice and we had the best trip sailing his boat up the ditch ( waterway) from SC to NC. He was a smart guy and worked hard. My condolences to the family.

Havent seen Doug for years. My last memory was in the 70s when I made a trip to to Wilmington with Mary to see Vernon and Cindy. We hooked up with Doug and his girl friend Faith for a day and most of the night on a boat on the waterways. It was a little wild but a great time. Doug was such a free spirit and had a love for the water and outdoors. May he Rest In Peace.
