I've known Doug since I was a very young boy and I've had nothing but respect for him. I too will miss him, But knowing that he's in the arms of the Lord and now he's living in eternal peace. My condolences goes out to his family and all that loved him.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Doug long after he had retired from FLPD. My father, Tony, was a partner of his 'back in the day' and asked if I'd take him to see his old friend. I could tell by the way they spoke that they shared a love, bond and respect for each other that only comes about after sharing some not so good situations through years of working together, Like many in the military, they shared a 'band of brothers'. Doug will remain in our hearts forever and I thank him...

I worked with Doug when he and Ozzie Davenport first entered Law Enforcement at Pompano Beach PD. He and Oz were courageous trail blazers. I worked with Doug when he was a Ft. Lauderdale uniformed officer and then a Detective. He was a credit to his profession. Doug was a fine and brave human being. The world is poorer for his departure. I pray that his family can take solace and pride in the facts that Doug had the courage of his convictions and that he did in fact, right wrongs.
