I truly hate to hear this. He was my go to guy for things in steel. He had a major impact on how steel connections are done. He will be missed by the engineering community. He was a lot of fun to work with on projects.

I met Doug on the Tennis Court at Homewood Tennis Club in Homewood. Doug had us constantly laughing especially when he made an error on the tennis shot, he would never had a bad word to say, he was always laughing and always ended the conversation with the Word of God. A man of faith and prayer.

I met Doug three years ago through tennis. He was the first one to welcome me to the team. Almost immediately I realized that Doug could talk any opponents ears off while simultaneously trying to place his 65 mph forehand between their eyes! Doug was such a passionate person, fun loving and a great friend. He was a man of God and truly loved his mixed tennis partner, and wife, Lorena! Doug, you will be truly missed at Homewood Tennis Courts. We will miss the laughs, talks, and slices you gave. You didn´t care who was at the net, you took your shots . Thank you for blessings us with your presence. A true man of God!

Doug and I had many great talks while we worked together as Investigators out of college. We recently reconnected in a small group and both shared our love for Christ, our country and our families. He will be missed. The world needs more people like him.
