I have so many great memories of Doug from our high school days together at Washington High School. He had the most amazing sense of humor and was one of the smartest students in our class. We only met Doug once but we seem to know him well through the updates of his sweet and humble wife Sue & others. His positive and dedicated service to his Lord was continuous during his courageous battle with that horrible disease.

Doug was a kind neighbor and man. When my boys were young children and were in cub scouts or had to sell for different fundraising events through their school Doug always supported and encouraged them in their fundraising efforts. Doug was such a kind soul. Always very welcoming and sweet and friendly. I got to know Doug through his wife, Sue, when I volunteered during college at the nursing home where she worked. She invited me to a weekly Bible study at her home and that is where I met Doug. Each week, she and her family and a few other women in Bible study would gather for dinner at her home.
