Not sure what to say?

He was a true gentleman. I had the honor of sitting with him when he was recognized as the oldest male at Old Timers in March 2012. We had an evening of fun conversation and he was still as sharp as a tack. We took turns buying each other drinks and swapping tales. I have a photo of him dancing with my wife, Linda.

I'm so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Our thought and prayers are with the family. He will be missed.

My knowing Doug and spending time with him was a positive thing for me. May he rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Tharp family. Doug was a wonderful man and thoughtful boss during my days working at Rountree Cotton Warehouse in Deming. He always had a good tale to spin and a laugh that would resonate throughout the warehouse. May God's light perpetual shine upon him.

A sweet and gentle man who will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The Lord is gathering the good ones...Doug was always friendly and a gentleman.

We are out of town so won't be able to attend services but will be with you in our thoughts and prayers.
