Not sure what to say?

Doug was a good friend to me at MacArthur High in San Antonio. Never without a smile and a joke or two to lighten the day. May he find peace and his family find comfort. I will miss him.

I worked with Doug while I was a consulting director of new opportunities at Ambrx. Loved working with him and we had so much fun discussing translation science, biology and Indications for the Ambrx technology. Flying back and forth each week between San Diego and my home in Seattle gave me many hours to reflect on how lucky I was to be working with Doug. Also turns out he was also a HUGE music fan and we had many jazz-inspired discussions of our favorite sounds and musicians. Doug and I...

In 1990, Doug was my first boss in my role as Medical Scientist in pharmaceutical product development - at Procter & Gamble, then called Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals. Doug's spirited use of language, including a highly personal, indeed quirky, way to describe progress milestones and design features of clinical trials, has remained with me as a unique vocabulary or "jargon" that I still use today. I will remember Doug for his teaching and his wit.

I knew Doug Axelrod way back when at Beloit College. I remember him as a quick wit and an all around great guy. I'm saddened to hear of his passing.

Heartbreaking. I'm sorry he is gone. Another reminder to take time to be with those we care about. Love to his family.

Rest in Peace, Doug! Thanks for all you have done!

I am so heartbroken to see this..and so thrilled that 2.5 yrs ago our paths crossed again and we had a marvelous time working together for a brief time...you pushed me to my limit and made me go beyond...you will always be remembered and noted as one of the best bosses in my career.....thank you ...RIP Doug

Rest in Peace Doug. He was a champion of inquiry over advocacy. He made us all better scientists at P&G Pharma. Quirky....yes. But that's why I thoroughly enjoyed working for him. It was just as easy to talk science with him as it was to talk jazz and cars. He was a colleague, a mentor, and just oh so unique! He will be missed.

I reported to Doug for about 5 of my 32 years working at P&G and those years of working under his guidance are the years that were the best of my career. Doug was a great boss that gave me the ability to do my job and achieve my goals. He was without doubt the most intelligent person I've ever worked with or for and I am saddened that his life and his work are over. Doug listened to me. I challenged him and he challenged me. We didn't always agree, but did have respect for each other and...
