Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to read of Doug's death. He and Jeanne were long-time good friends of my parents Wig and Geri Wigtil. Please relay my heartfelt condolences to Jeanne. Our family wasn't able to reach Jeanne to inform her of my mother's death on July 28 (see Aug 1 Democrat & Chronicle). An amazing generation is passing.

My grandfather Robert was Uncle Doug's older brother. Over the years we spent a lot of time with him and Jeanne, and they both were almost like another set of grandparents to me and my sister. Though we haven't been in contact as much as we should have been since my grandparent's passing, they've always been in my thoughts. My mother and I corresponded with cousin Doug over the years and visited Doug and Jeanne when they lived in Florida -- a pleasure because of his inquiring mind and their gracious hospitality. We have some photos of Doug with my slightly younger mother, Lois Whidden Kochanski, when they were kids visiting his grandparents in Connecticut. Doug is still with us in our thoughts, though he has joined his forebears in eternity.

We, the members of the Genesee Vallley Chapter of MOAA, will miss our comrade in arms, Douglas. We express our deepest sympathy to the family members.
