Once again, thank you Birmingham News for such a wonderful website.

Words can't explain the emptiness that I feel in my heart. The loss that I am trying to come to terms with is greater than my mind can comprehend at this time. I appreciate all of the prayers and words of kindness.

Thank you so very much to everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers during this time. Doug was a wonderful man and I cannot wait to see Gavin in hopes that he looks just like his daddy.

Love,
Melody

Deborah,

I am just now finding out about Doug. I am so heart-broken for you. This is the only way I know to get in touch with you - so, I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am and, if you need me, you know where I am.

I love you,

Kelley Atkinson

Melody and Deborah,
John and I will be here for you for whatever you need. You are in our prayers and we love yall.
