BOWLING, Douglas I. - Of Flint, age 77, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 peacefully at his residence. Funeral service was held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jack McMaster officiated. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Douglas was born in Lovern, West Virginia on October 31, 1933. On October 4, 1959, he married Patricia Burton. Douglas was employed with Flint Metal Fab for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Faith Baptist of Linden, Secord Lake Eagles Club and a member of Swartz Creek Lodge #458 F.&A.M. and Elf Khurafeh Temple. Surviving are wife Pat; grandson, T.J. Lupu; great-granddaughter, Laila Lupu; son-in-law, Traian Lupu; Brother, Ralph (Juanita) Bowling; Sister, Nina Blake Kerry (Loren); Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Lupu, brothers, Ray and Morris Bowling, sisters, Mildred Thorne and Clara Clemons.
