Not sure what to say?

Doug was a great guy. We met in tenth grade English class. We sat beside each other. He had a ready smile and a terrific disposition. He was funny and philosophical and sincere. I never heard him speak an unkind word. He was a good friend of mine at Blair. After graduation, I moved away from the area and we lost contact but I think of him with fondness and know he will be missed. Bless his soul.

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing last year. As it is now much later, I doubt that any of the family will read this. But...I met Doug in 1966 when I was a senior at Blair and he was a junior. It was my first year at Blair and he was one of the few people who was friendly. That's pretty much how he was. He loaned me a $5 Stella guitar because I wanted desperately to learn to play, and he patiently taught me all I needed to know to get started. We formed a band with John Caldwell,...

We are so sad to have heard about our old friend and neighbor. Kara and her sisters were so lucky to have a Dad who I thought was the best in our neighborhood and beyond. We will always remember how nice he was to the Levy family.

I met Doug nearly 50 years ago, and knew him to be a thoughtful, interesting person, one of the 'good guys', and can understand the love and respect he has received from the previous comments here. My condolences to Marla and family.

Doug and I were great friends and roommates in the 1969 - 1970 era and we were musical soul brothers during that time. We tried to get a garage band going without too much success but had great times living the dream. I am grateful I saw him a few years ago on a trip back to Maryland.

I worked with Doug at Chuck Levin's Music. He worked part time and my time with him was on Wednesday nights. It was a pleasure getting to know him, as everyone has said his family including Lucy was his favorite things to talk about. And tales about the liquor store downtown. His knowledge never ceased to amaze me. I was so shocked and sadden by the news. I will not repeat everyone's words again but yes they are all so true. Prayers to his entire family.

I haven't seen Doug since a couple of years after high school, but I remember him for a significant kindness he did for me at that time. My sympathies to his family.

I am so sorry to hear this. Doug and I were close friends at Montgomery Blair. We shared a love of music and I learned to drive a stick shift on his Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite. My sincere condolences.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
