Not sure what to say?

My dear friend Doug and I shared so many fun times back in rhe70´s as students at Ohio Institute of Photography. Although we lost regular contact over the years, Doug will always be an integral part of my journey. I miss his presence and loyal friendship.

Doug was my instructor at OIP 1984-87. His stories of his work in New York City planted a strong desire to see the city! I moved there 2 weeks after graduation, I stayed there for three years, then moved to Milan Italy! He said you must fulfill your dreams! I did with his encouragement! Went visiting Ohio I looked for OIP but it was closed, sadly, I wanted to find him and share my stories! Sad to hear this news

I was Doug's roommate and classmate during the school years. We had great times together and we learned a lot together in school, especially at OIP! I really miss those days and occasionally Doug and I would talk about them. Like everyone that knew him I am saddened to hear the news of his passing. I will never forget the times we had living in Athens and Dayton and all the things we got into together during those years. So long big guy!

Doug was my commercial photography instructor and portfolio advisor at OIP from 1995-1997. I looked up to him and so much wanted to be able to shoot like he did. He was a huge influence on me as a photographer and as a person. Doug was always kind, soft-spoken and patient. I'm heartbroken to hear of his passing, but know that he influenced so many of his students.
Prayers of peace and comfort to his family and friends.

Doug was my instructor at OIP 1979-1982, but he also became a very good friend. He was a super teacher, an amazing photographer, and the sweetest and kindest of friends. I will treasure the times I had with him, and the photos I have of and with him. I will miss him greatly. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you, Dennis and Marie.

I had Doug as an instructor at OIP&T, 1998-2000. To this day I recall his very high image standards for my portfolio. Something that I learned from and hold close to this day. He will be missed!

I’m sorry to hear of his passing. I am praying for his family and loved ones. He was a great teacher that was always there if you needed him. His guidance helped me get to where I am today. Thank You

Douglas was a great guy, as a childhood friend!
