Doug would loved to have seen his beloved Michigan football team earn their No. 1 ranking. I´ll always remember him as their No. 1 fan! Go Blue, Doug!

Time has parted our relationship. It seems your loving nature had not changed. A man who would loan you his shirt. My deepest and sincere condolences to your family. You will not be forgotten dear friend.

Janet and Katie, I remember fondly our time at family camp with the Flushing Presbyterian Church. My husband and my daughter Julia shared a cabin with you so sorry to read about Doug. He was a wonderful man.

It was a pleasure and Honor knowing Doug, I especially enjoyed teaching his Grand Children how to ski, and saw that happy Face of a proud Grandfather. RIP

Jan we are so very sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Whenever we think of him, it brings a smile to our face. We have such wonderful memories of Doug and the time we spent with him. He was a kind and generous soul. He was absolutely fantastic with the kids and parents alike. May God grant you strength as you morn the loss of Doug. The most amiable fellow, ever. A sports aficionado, player, and coach, to be sure. Doug played on some superb FHS football teams--some would say best in the school's history. His UM allegiance was legendary, and I remember a similar dedication to the Red Wings, back in the "Olympia" era. Being a contemporary, I didn't witness his coaching days, but got a taste of his leadership knack at our annual FHS scramble, in 1991. Mr. Brautigam was my cross country coach at Grand Blanc high School and he was an amazing and funny man. One of my memories I have is being in his neighborhood and him having his daughter in a bike seat while we ran practice and he rode his bike. My condolences go to his family and friends.
