I am really sad to hear about Doug's passing. I hope he did not suffer too much and you folks are holding up OK.
Doug and I shared some great times together at UCLA and some of my fondest memories are from when we were roommates in a one bedroom apt (there were 3 of us!). He made me laugh a lot and he had some great "hey, hey" mannerisms which I still use to this day.
Not sure if it is possible, but if you let me know when his ashes will be scattered on...
