Not sure what to say?

Doug, thanks for always being kind, generous and including me on a few of your adventures in Alaska, John Day River and the San Juan Islands. I have so many good memories of my young family visiting your Center Island cabin and the deer, crab and fish that we would eventually discover in abundance. Loved your passion for any fish, the rivers and all things wild. Peace & Adios Amigo.

I was Doug #1. He was Doug #2. I called him on July 2. I hadn't talk to him in several years. We had a brief talk and laughed along. I loved him. He was big in my life.

I have such fond memories of Doug on the Deschutes River fishing for summer steelhead swinging flies. Doug was more than generous. Doug was instrumental in helping get the Harris Canyon water tower restored on the Deschutes River in 2009. Doug will be deeply missed by so many. Ron Walp/Maupin, OR.
