Not sure what to say?

Dear family and friends of Mr. Case:

I only "knew" Mr. Case from his writings as "Doghouse Reily," yet I am saddened that his bright voice and spirit are gone from the internet. His writings were a joy and a smile and a quirk to read about the foibles of this world, and also a warm fellow feeling that another in this world appreciated the work of Raymond Chandler.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Go with the gods.
Or failing that, please go with Chandler as a welcomed friend. You are much missed, Doghouse, much missed.

Only knew you from your blog...been looking every day wondering why there were no new entries...just heard the news. i'm heartbroken. You will be missed.

RIP Doghouse. I will miss reading your work immensely. My condolences to your friends and family and thanks for all the laughs.

Deb...I am writing this from Bali after reading the obituary online and wanted you to know how much I ache for you from afar. What a guy you were lucky to have and vice versa. And the beautiful tributes from Doug's fans is overwhelmingly awesome. What a testimonial for his huge contribution to humankind. I wrote Gari Williams a note and she said how much she respects you as a teacher and as a person. I second that.
Heart hugZ..want to see you when I return from Bali in September.

R.I.P. Dog....you had the ascerbic wit of H.L. Menkin, and creative cryptic political/cultural vision a Hunter S. Thompson. You will be sorely missed by your blog readers - but particulary your family and loved ones.

"Doghouse" was a wonderful writer, a perceptive soul, and a very kind and generous correspondent. My deepest sympathy to those who loved him.

My "olive" cousin. We shared many of them over the years of family get togethers. We'll all remember the family fun we had for so many years.

You will be missed Douglas aka Doghouse. Missed by many here in Canada and around the world
