Not sure what to say?

Doug´s father, Reverend Paul Connelly was our beloved pastor during the 1950era at First Baptist in Madison Heights, Michigan. I knew Doug and his brother "Ed" very well. A fine family. Last saw them in Sandusky, Michigan around 1963. Doug was a fine person, so full of life and cheer. So sorry we never made contact again as the years rolled past.

I'm so sorry to hear of Rev. Douglas's passing! We have used some of his study guides in our home fellowship and at a Calvary women's study group (The Armor of God) and have found them so helpful! His encouragement to the body of Christ will live on. May the Lord comfort all who mourn, especially Karen and their children, knowing you will see him again!

I am so saddened to find this obituary. I was thinking about your family so looked up pictures on the internet which I have done before. I have wanted to get intouch at times. I will be keeping the family in my prayers, knowing how hard it is to have lost such a great husband and father. I have fond memories of the 4 of us singing together at Hilltop Baptist, and many other good memories, long ago.

I am so sorry for your loss, Karen and family. I know this will be a difficult time for you, and my prayers are with you

Doug was pastor at Parkside for 12 years and I was his secretary. He was a compassionate pastor and an excellent communicator. He was greatly loved by his congregation. I enjoyed working with him and he was very patient with me and gave good advice when needed. We send our love to Karen and Kyle and Kim and Kevin and pray they will feel comforted during this sad time.

So grateful that Doug was a family friend of our extended Weimer - Haffner family. He graciously conducted funerals for our Aunties, Pauline Weimer & Lydia Weimer Martin. The last I had visited with Doug was when he conducted my late husband, Charlie's funeral, in 2014. Heaven's Gates have been busy receiving our joint friends and family. My gratitude that Doug was available on those occasions to see our family through the details of their funeral services. Love to Karen and the family...

On behalf of the Flint Northern Class of 1967, we share your sadness in seeing Doug leave us at this time, but knowing he in the presence of Jesus Christ his Savior and Lord. Prayers of Friendship for you, Karen, and your family.
