He had one brother and two sisters. He died on December 13, 1995, in his hometown, at the age of 44, and was buried there. Douglas was a dear son and brother and will be deeply missed by his family. He served an LDS Mission to South Africa and received The Duty to God and Eagle Scout awards. Doug brought much joy to others in his life through his great talent as a pianist. He graduated from the University of Utah in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Westinghouse for several years as an engineer and then went with the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver as an engineer for 12 years where he received numerous awards for outstanding service in the field of engineering. He loved the out-of-doors. He did a lot of mountain climbing, hiking and cross country skiing. ..... OBITUARY: Douglas William Crow passed away December 13, 1995 at the age of 44. Preceded in death by his other grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Crow. Friends may visit with the family at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland on Thursday, December 21, 1995 from 6-8 p.m. At the request of Douglas, graveside services will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to ICH Hospice, 2250 South 1300 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84119. T 12/20 N 12/20" ___________ Doug was a gay man who left the Mormon Church because of it's bigotry against him and other gay people, and because he no longer believed in Mormonism.
