Doug was one of the most influential people in my life when we first met at Nashville Memorial Hospital in 1974.. Even though my life took me in many direction and most of them away from the Nashville area, Doug remained my dear close friend for the rest of his left. I saw him in July and so glad I got that last few hours with him. Rest in piece my dear dear friend..

I knew Doug when he was an orderly at Memorial Hospital in Madison. I was working the night he delivered his daughter in the parking lot.He and Steve Meador, who is has also gone, were some of the best when we needed them. They both went on to become special people in the medical field. Doug was very good at his job and had a personality that was important in what he did. He will be missed. It was a pleasure to know him even so many years ago.

Our thoughts are with all the family and friends of Doug. He will be greatly missed! I have been blessed to have shared time with him and his family. I'll never forget the wonderful welcoming I received from all of them when Terry took me to Tennessee to meet them all for the first time. May they all be comforted in this time of loss. Doug and I worked together in the ER in Nashville many years ago. Immediately we became real buddies. We loved to work together. He had such a marvelous "dry" sense of humor
This week I learned that Doug had been very ill and had died . My heart feels broken despite the many years that have passed since last being together.
I know that I am a better human being because of his love for me.RIP dear dear friend.❤

I remember many sides to Doug. One of the things I remember best was his steadfast support of family. He was a very intelligent man who had a very magnetic personality. (I once saw him charm 3 women simultaneously.) He was an excellent nurse, going above & beyond for his patients sometimes. He was broadminded and could be very forgiving. He had a great capacity for love. He was very kind to me at times when I needed it. I've lost a friend and the world won't be nearly as interesting without him.
