Not sure what to say?

Another anniversary came and went remembering the passing of my dear friend. It always brings a smile to my face when I think of him and our weekly lunches and the years I was his medical assistant . I hope his family is doing well .

It is coming up on the anniversary of Dr. Deven's passing , and though it brings me comfort to know he is in a better place ; I miss my friend dearly. I was fortunate enough to be blessed by his friendship and advice. I was at the hospital with him when he had his heart surgery and I had the pleasure of meeting his daughter and sons, they were very welcoming and kind to me. He will always be remembered and dearly missed.

I worked with Doug at Heart City and he was my mentor and a dear friend. We continued to have lunch weekly until he moved from Elkhart back to Michigan. We text each other weekly and although I had not seen him since he moved I was devastated by his death and will miss him greatly. My prayers are with his family.

My heart is truly saddened by his passing. I have very found memories of him with my Grandmother when I was younger. Although I hadn't seen him in awhile I while always hold those memories near and dear to my heart. Love and miss you Grandpa Doug.

Doug was my husband and my friend, and my main physician... for 40 years. He was my 'go-to guy'... for more than half my life.

It seems very strange to be without him, although we were often apart when he was working as a locum tenens, and while he was in Elkhart...he was always home for the holidays, and we spoke several times each day by phone.

He was ill ever since he retired from the Heart Center, and we were together most of this time. It was very upsetting to see him...

Doug and I were so saddened to hear of Uncle Doug's passing. He and I often fondly recall our times at the lake with all the family, my indoctrination into the family by swimming in the ice-cold Great Lakes! Uncle Doug and "the cousins" remain some of my fondest memories of 35+ years ago when I was blessed to become one of them. God bless each of you; we love you and are thinking of you always, and we treasure all the great times with swelling hearts, belly laughs and love.

All of us at Heart City Health Center send our condolences to the entire Devens family. Doug was a valuable member of our medical team for nearly 11 years and he shared his love for you with us through the many pictures and tales of your travels and adventures. He will always be remembered by us for his commitment to doing all that was needed to be a good doctor - without complaint or grumble. He will also be fondly remembered by staff, present and past, for making us feel valued while in his...
