The world is not as nice a place without Doug in it. He as a Great Volleyball player but nicer Person. He was a Leader for all of the right reasons. I wish I had done a better job of being in touch over the years. He worked hard, had a great family, and will be remembered as a Pioneer in the Beach Volleyball community. I wish is family well, and hope that they know that Doug will Always be remembered.

A Great person who was very helpful to me when I was learning the game of Beach Volleyball at an early age. Doug was a Great Player and a Nicer person. He and Kerry Kleppinger made up the Best Team in Florida in the 70's to early 90's when the Sport was very just starting. I was Very Lucky to have met Doug. I would not have been involved in the sport if not for him.

I had lost contact with Doug, but I remember him from many years of playing volleyball. He helped me learn the game when I was just a kid. He was one of the nicest people in Beach Volleyball I ever met. He and Kerry Kleppinger made up the best team in Florida for Years in the 80's and early 90's. I wish I had known so I could have done something more fitting.
