Not sure what to say?

I too lost a friend named Douglas this month, and although not ever meeting yours, I believe he was a good man, friend and father and am sorry to hear of your family's loss. Take care of one another.

He was a first cousin and was a big part of our family. There is a big hole in the clan with him gone. He was so much older that we weren’t close when I was a kid. We became friends when I was fifteen and he was about thirty two. He taught me a lot about living life. I loved him a lot.

It’s a damned big hole.

I remember Doug as a big teddy bear of a guy. With his booming voice

EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT KNOW YOU BEFORE THAT DIFFICULT DAY AT THE ROCK QUARRY.WE PRAY THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FIND PEACE, AND WISH WITH ALL OUR HARTS THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING MORE WE COULD HAVE DONE.

Have known and respected Doug since grade school ... he was always honest, sincere and kind. My thoughts to the family .. he will be missed by all those who knew him.

My dearest Karen and family; My heart aches for the loss of Doug, he was always going to be here with all his joy of life. He touched my life and filled it with fun, laughter, creativity. He will live in my heart forever and will always bring a big smile. My few ferry trips to the Island, I meant to stop to visit but seemed to be in too big a hurry. And look at what joy one misses during the rush..... You two shared a wonderful love that won't stop, he will be at your side always. I know the...

Doug and I started out in the first grade at Madeleine. What a character and a physical strength of Golaith! He enjoyed life and will be missed. My regards to the family.

I remember Doug from the wrestling team at Grant. Back in '68 or '69 I was hitch hiking when Doug stopped and gave me a ride. We got caught up on what we were each doing; it was good to chat with him as we had both embarked on our adult lives. Sounds like Doug lived his to the fullest, and had a loving family to go with it.
