Doug was my cousin. We had little contact over the years, but I have nice memories of his visiting Canton, Ohio, with his parents and brother when we were all young. My most recent memory comes from a trip to Ann Arbor my husband and I made several years ago. We stayed with Doug's parents and he came over for dinner. He was a smart man who, I believe, often took the road less traveled. I hope he had a good life and found happiness as often as possible.

I encountered Doug occasionally here in Ann Arbor and got to know him slightly. He always struck me as very intelligent and insightful and I enjoyed our short conversations.

I happened to run in to him last Saturday after not having seen him for some time. I was shocked to find that he died that night.

I had the honor of working with Doug at TACOM for many years. We were a two person test team for several years, and travelled a lot together. On a trip out west, I took him to Yosemite for a day of hiking. He had never been there before. When we got to the park and he saw the waterfalls and tall cliffs, he was totally amazed and we enjoyed our day there so much. We were also neighbors and I always enjoyed seeing him.
