Not sure what to say?

Regrettfully I was out of the country when my dear friend passed away.We had become close friends and confidents over the past few years both personally and professionally. We shared a number of Superbowls together including this year when he stayed over and before I left for vacation we got together a few times on a First Nations outreach project he was helping my Church develop at Christ Church Deer Park near Yonge & St.Clair.I will miss his company and the fun he permeated. He was...

Doug has recently been my neighbour here in Ottawa. He always stopped to share a friendly smile and chat - in the yard, in the driveway and on the sidewalk while strolling home from the bus stop. Doug looked you straight into the eye and always had a full, genuine smile. We would complain about the ridiculous snow fall and rejoice in the salvation of sunny weather. These are my everyday memories of Doug. I will miss his smile.

Words cannot express our shock and sadness at Doug's sudden passing. While he left you way too soon, take comfort in knowing that while he was with you, he made a major contribution to your lives and to Canada. We feel priviledged to have known Doug personally and appreciate how he welcomed Matthew so warmly into your family when he married Maggie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. Although I knew Doug for a short time, his kindness and advice to me as I started in "his" business was greatly appreciated. I feel the better for having met him. I ran into him last Friday morning at a coffee shop in Ottawa, and am glad I got to have a quick chat with him.

A number of years ago a newly elected rookie alderman got a phone call from Doug asking for support for his election as Regional Chair--without hesitation I agreed. That success in Sudbury allowed him to make many important contributions to his province and country. Rest easy ole buddy--you are sorely missed.

Through all of our times in Pharmacy, Doug was a great friend. He always remembered the good times and friends made through life. It's hard to realise that such a spark has gone.

The film industry has lost a champion....and a great friend. We'll miss that rascal...

I have wonderful memories of Doug and his Cressey family at Maple Lake. He gave me sound advice "go to College" and many laughs. We will always have a piece of Doug in Klinker, our friendly drift wood.

I feel blessed to have known and worked for this wonderful man. A small group of us had lunch with him on Friday March 20th to celebrate his birthday. When he left the restaurant he gave each one of us a big hug. I will cherish that last hug forever.
