Although I did not know Doug very well from high school, I do remember him being funny, witty, a fast runner and very smart. He obviously influenced and inspired many other people in his life, and that's a rare gift. My condolences to the family and I am glad he gave many people great memories.

Doug persevered in this cancer thing as he did in life. The Lord must need Home for a very special reason. I know one reason is to watch over his Ann, Will, and Maggs forever. Rest in eternal peace Doug.

We lost a giant of a man in his field, a very good man and a dear friend. You lost a devoted, loving husband, father and guide. I will remember him as a caring friend and confidant, his wit unsurpassed, and a constant source of clever analysis. His love of family shone through all. Farewell dear friend. I finally finished your socks.
