I appreciate all the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. We wouldn't be making it through without them. I want to thank all of you for your love and consideration. Doug was an amazing person. We that knew him, knew that, but we didn't know what a big hole in our hearts he would leave after he was gone. We didn't expect him to leave us so suddenly or so soon. No one really has any assurance of a tomorrow. It just brings it home to all of us how important the things we do each day are. ...

I know that only God can give you the comfort that you need at this difficult time. I do hope that it helps to know that there are friends praying for all of you. I wanted to attend the service for Doug but have the flu bug, so please know you are in my thoughts. God be with you in the days to come and give you comfort and guidance.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this time. Debbie used to babysit me long ago, and Doug was one of my earliest memories as another friend of the family. Peace be with you as your angel watches over you.
