Not sure what to say?

I had the good fortune of meeting Doug through basketball and watching him play against Holy Cross. I just read through the amazing tributes which leave no doubt of this splendid man´s marked contribution to society. Dan Doyle

Dear Hice Family, I only just found out of the passing of Bowie Hice as I knew him..Bowie and I went to Saint Anthony's together...I was just recently in Trenton at a family re-union when my cousin told me Bowie passed away..He was our star basketball player, and we attended all his games...He was kind and gentle, very respectful of the nuns and the priests...I lost contact with Bowie when Trenton Catholic joined with Cathedral HS..I am so saddened by his death..God Bless his wife and...

On the anniversary of his death and each day I pass his office, I think about how much he meant and did for me and the division in his quiet way. Often myself or a co-worker can be heard saying if Doug were here he'd..... He's so missed and forever loved. My continued sympathy. Fran Miceli

To the Hice Family,
I enjoyed knowing Doug through 4 years at Immaculate Conception and then again in 1962-1963 when TC merged with CHS. He was always very friendly and a wonderful ball player. My deepest sympathy to you Pat the family. We will keep you all in our prayers.
God bless

Aunt Pat,Dana & Daria-
Please forgive me for being so late on writing this, its still very hard for me to write this for I feel that I have lost more than an Uncle. I feel that Uncle Bo took me under his wing and spoke, taught, and listened to me like I was one of his own daughters. I have nothing but wonderful memories of Uncle Bo,vacations, holidays, birthdays, the talks that we had and everything that came between. I can remember when I would sit on his lap and he rub my face on his...

I only just this week learned of Coach Hice's passing and am deeply saddened. My sympathy and prayers go out to his family for their loss.

I played ball under Coach Hice at St. Anthony's during the 1971 and 1972 seasons and while were we not successful from a win-loss record, we learned a great deal under his guidance and direction. We became a team under his leadership and learned to never give up, to dig into our personal reserves when behind, and to persevere in spite of...

With deepest sympathy. I hope that the healing brought by the passing of time will dull the pain so you can find the joy in your memories.

Cathedral '66 and BSS.

To my dear sister, Pat, my beautiful (both inside and out) nieces, Dana, and Daria and my grand niece, Cassidy:
There are no words to express the deep sorrow and pain you are all experiencing at this horrible time in your lives -- it's so unfair!
I wish I could have stayed longer with you all to try to help in what ever way I could.
Perhaps in time you will be able to read all the wonderful things so many people wrote about Bo - perhaps in time you will be able to recall all...

To the Hice Family: As Dana's colleague, I was truly saddened to learn of her dad's sudden passing. Having experienced a similar situation many years ago, I was taken back to this very difficult passage of time. You have all been in my thoughts and I have offered a prayer in Douglas' memory along with a hope that you will find peace and solice in the days and months ahead.

With much empathy, Joanne Kerekes (Principal in South Brunswick)
