Read MoreThe first case I handled after I passed the bar exam was a personnel matter wherein Doug represented Alameda County. Even though I didn't know how to handle the case very well, Doug was always very kind to me and behaved in a highly-gentlemanly fashion. I always appreciated that a lot.

I remember Doug from when I worked with him over 13 years ago in the County Counsel's office. His quiet dignity and wry humor were treasured by the whole office. Truly a gentleman.
