Not sure what to say?

Doug was my big brother by 7 years, we weren't close, but I was always proud to talk about him and his achievements in life. We only saw eachother maybe once a year, so it was always a special time when he came around and he just happened to die the day after we saw him on this last yearly visit. It's now Nov. 15th and we've just imbued his ashes to his permanent resting place in Withee Wi. I'm so proud to see how people loved my brother and all these amazing messages.

I just came across Doug's passing in the Coast Guard retiree magazine. Doug and I were classmates in Coast Guard Officer Candidate School (class 2-02). Such a good guy, leader, and athelete. I've been following him on LinkedIn, he appeared to be thriving. I extend my condolences to the twins and his family. So sorry for your loss.

We always enjoyed a lively conversation with Doug...a particularly memorable time was when he visited us in San Diego while he was still in the Marines at Camp Pendleton, driving up on his motorcycle for the day. We feel so blessed to have seen him one last time on his most recent visit to Wisconsin...he will be missed! Our true condolences to his immediate family.

Doug was a Renaissance man to his core. He left a trail of goodness wherever he went. What a guy!

Rest in Peace Doug
