Not sure what to say?

Somehow I missed hearing about Doug´s passing. It came up at a dinner last night that I hosted for a couple of our classmates and I was so shocked. I´m sorry. He was a sweet man with a lovely heart and always spoke so kindly of everyone. I have thought about you a lot today Kathy, and hope you and your family are coping. Hugs Darlene Smith Perkins

My B-I-L Doug was a remarkably kind and generous man. Most recently, when he found out I had started dialysis, he sent me a "shower kit", a way to cover up my chest catheter so I can take proper showers without messing up my dressings. The fact that he even thought of that shows his "outside the box" ingenuity, and I'm forever grateful for all his thoughtfulness, both small and large.

Several years ago Doug and I met over at Norma Lachelle´s house to share pizza and interesting stories from our junior high art class. We had fun talking about our pets also. What can be better than laughter and pizza??

I remember watching the lightening show from his front yard one night in early fall with my wife and children. Doug and Kathy had welcomed us in to their home. I worked with Doug at J&P´s 1996-2001 and continued to catch up with him every time we ran into each other at 53rd Bimart.

I was a classmate of Doug´s and knew him best. When I owned a business called memories flower shop in Corvallis and he would come and leave some of his artwork there for sale. He was very clever and very original. I wish the family to hang onto the good memories.

I knew Doug back in the 90´s. I worked in the service department. I really liked him he was a very special man and taught me a lot about cars. His family got a good one that´s for sure. He will be missed by so many. My heart goes out to the family and all the friends he made thru the years.
