I miss you and a think about you so often...I cannot believe that such a fleeting encounter with you has left such an impact on me......

I am writing to express my deepest condolences. Douglas Kirby is my first academic idol for his zest on the research and on the effectiveness of sexuality education programs in the reduction of adolescent sexual risk-taking behavior . I do not meet him but I benefit a lot from his paper. My advisor was going to invite him to come here and work with us for a few days. Sorry for his lost again.

I'm sorry to hear of the sudden passing of such a pioneer as Doug,but he has left an inspirational legacy for us to take our heart and strength of convictions to go forward. I have been an avid fan of Dougs work since 2001 and it guided my work for the ten years I worked at Family Planning NSW and still does guide my work. His family in their loss can be so proud of such a trail blazer as Doug, a man with great heart and humour. He will be greatly missed.

I am very saddened by this news. Doug has been such a passionate, generous & learned advocate for young people, parents & sexuality education. Doug was a great advocate for integrity in sexual reproductive health and for treating the young and the poor with respect. He was an inspiration to many, with his humor, honesty and gentle nature. He will be greatly missed.

The world will miss such a wise and gentle soul. He touched my life so briefly but I can still remember that smile and the encouragement that naturally sparked from his nature. My condolences to Gail and the family.
