Not sure what to say?

Dear Betty and family,
It was nice seeing you at Sarah Merriweather's service. I am very sorry to hear about Doug, I know he was very welcomed with open arms when he arrived in heaven. He was such a caring and wonderful person. Martha Hodge and family.

I first met Rev. Koehler when my younger daughter (now 46) attended the UCUC pre-school, and I encountered his cheerful smile often throughout my many years in University City. When I remarried after a difficult life transition, I was delighted that he was available to officiate at our wedding. He was a truly kind, compassionate soul and we extend our profound sympathy to his family.

Doug (with Betty) truly lived his ministry. He gave each member of the UCUC congregation his personal time & support for many years. He even fit in all the Youth functions. His 'walk' was an example & key influence in my life. Someone so special can never be forgotten.

Doug was a wonderful, kind, caring man.
He will be in our hearts forever.

We knew Doug and Betty through the PD Exercise class at Scripps Memorial Scheztel Center. Doug was always upbeat and caring no matter what he was going through and Betty and several other PD wives from that group formed a support group for which I am so thankful. Please accept our deepest sympathy on Doug's passing.

What a wonderful gracious and caring gentle man. I will always treasure how warmly he welcomed me as the Preschool / Church Administrative Assistant and the occasional conversations we had through the past 13 years. I feel privileged to have known Doug.

Doug was my pastor for 19 years and was a dear friend. He left a great legacy in his community and will be greatly missed.
