Not sure what to say?

Doug was my very first and most remembered youth counselor at the original First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, LA. Besides my parents, Doug taught all of us to have a good time, to be careful and cautious while loving The Good Lord; he introduced me and so many, many others about God and his teaching. I have tried to follow him throughout his glorious career, but I moved to Texas in 1983 and lost touch. My family kept me up with his promotions, etc., but I must say there were so...

Rev. Cain, Doug, was so kind to my family. My dad is gone, and my mother is in nursing care, so I speak for them. He was a stand up guy. Our hearts go out to all of you, and he will be greatly missed.

He was there to accept us into the church in Natchitoches and confirmed my son a little later on. Never will I forget his kindness and his amazing sermons. Thank you Marti for sharing your wonderful husband with all of us for so many years. He will be missed. My prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Dougs death. He was our pastor in New Orleans in the early 80s. I still have a Christmas ornament that I purchased from Jed for a school fundraiser so I think about the Cain family every Christmas. Doug never knew but he is one of the reasons I became a minister. Sending prayers and love to the family.

What sad and unexpected news...Rev. Cain was such a kind soul. He officiated my wedding, helped us memorialize my beloved FIL, and offered much comfort and advise in the years Ive known him. The world is a little darker with Rev Cain in it. Sending thoughts of comfort and love to the family. SB

He was one of the best ministers I have ever heard.

Sending prayers for the family. Doug was a kind and gentle spirit, quick to point out the rainbow after every storm. All the Cain's make up so very many of the memories of my life from ages 11 to 50, both the happiest and the most heartbreaking. I look forward to a great family reunion someday in Heaven where Jesus will make all things known - especially my love for all of you...

We were very shocked when we heard the news of Doug's passing. We loved him and enjoyed his teaching and comments in our Sunday School Class. We will miss him greatly and we are remembering his family in this time of loss.
