He sang "Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire.", in the 1980's at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium with the Lake Avenue Church Sanctuary Choir and orchestra. This was one of the greatest things to happen to me since I sang in that choir.

Doug first came to my attention when - as a teenager - he was a trombonist in an Inglewood, California church orchestra. I was the choir director. Doug had a nice tone on his horn. Many years passed. We next crossed paths when he was the innovative choir director and producer of music at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, California. I´m so saddened to hear this news!! My family had the pleasure of meeting Doug during the Bach Festival many years ago! He became one of our family´s closest friends and I always looked forward to his many visits to Bethlehem! His has gained a wonderful again ...I can be sure the heavens are singing with joy!!
