Dear Great-Grandpa,
I'll miss you. It was fun going over to visit you and I was thrilled to know I made your Christmas Day a little bit brighter. I enjoyed hearing about the Navy and Shirley Temple. I will never forget you!
Love,
your great-grandaughter

Mr. Leonard was our next door neighbor for 5 years when we lived on Elm St. We enjoyed our visits and he would share great stories with us and our kids about his many interests: art, engineering, travelling, family, and his military adventures. We mourn with the Leonard Family during this time.

The J. Richard and Eleanor VanGorder family sends the Doug and Virginia Leonard family our sincere and deep sympathies on the passing of Mr. "Doug" Leonard, our Elm Street, Newark Valley neighbor for nearly 50 years. So many good memories from such a humble and polite gentleman that we will always remember. Our mother Eleanor looked forward to seeing Doug on her visit to the area this June. Again our condolences to the Leonard family on your loss.
