Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to read about the passing of my old friend Doug Mai. We worked together in the early 60s for the Retail Credit Co.as investigators. Later after Doug joined the CHP, I visited him in So. California and went on a few ride-along while he was on duty. I´m sorry to say that we lost touch in later years.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my old friend Doug Mai. Doug and I worked together in the 60s at the Retail Credit Co. In Stockton, CA as investigators. This was before he joined the CHP. After he and Donna, along with their children moved to Orange County my wife and visited them in their home in Tustin CA. I also went on ride-alongs with Doug when he was on duty. As I am getting older I have tried to reach out to old friends. I'm sorry I waited too long to check on Doug. My...

I am very saddened to hear of the passings of Doug, Donna and Carla. I met the Mai family in 1977 through my parents Frank & Ruth Gerstenkorn. There were many good times with them. Going to the movies, BBQ's, hiking in Pleasants Valley and swimming at Lake Solano. Many wonderful memories to charish! Vince Gerstenkorn, Cheyenne, WY

Just read about Doug's passing in the LA Times today. Jean and I were saddened to hear of his passing and after reading the obituary noting that Donna and Carla had passed before Doug. We were neighbors and friends of the Mai's at the Tustin Acres apartment complex. We got together for many barbecues and had some great times. Doug was a CHP officer at the time and I was a state investigator. We shared many job related stories. Our sincere condolences to Jeff.

A really special friend. A great husband and father. I met Doug when I hired him to do special security at Build 'n Save in Orange, Ca. I used to go on ridealongs with him on occasion. He left the CHP to go to Fairfield, Ca.
I didn't see him or Donna very much after he moved. I hope some of his family reaches out to me. [email protected].

Doug was a really solid citizen. I was proud to be his friend. My wife and I enjoyed the occasional meal with Doug and Donna. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I met Doug forty three years ago. He and Donna were always fun to be around. Doug always had a joke ready even when he was experiencing rough times. He, like his father and brother, was a tough ol guy. They are actually softies, but always rock solid. I miss Donna and I will miss Doug greatly. Enjoy whatever you find there Doug, see you soon enough. Love Marilee.

I met Doug when his wife worked with me at Orchard Supply Hardware many moons ago. I also went to school with Carla and Jeff. He was a very nice and caring person as was his wife. He will be greatly missed by everyone that has crossed his path. RIP Mr.Mai and tell Carla and Donna hello.
